      A North Carolina Railroad Station in
    
    
    MACON
    Former Seaboard Air Line Railway depot. The depot was probably
      built sometime after 1918 according to research conducted by Lynn
      McConnell. The historic marker sign depicted below reflects the
      construction date of the first Macon depot used by predecessor
      railroads. It built in 1839, probably by the Raleigh & Gaston
      Railroad.
