The fantastic photo below was taken by John D. Jones at Chattanooga, TN on November 3, 1991 during the Chattanooga "Celebration of Steam". Here are three mighty steam locomotives under full power. In the lead is Southern #4501, a 2-8-2 Mikado. Right behind #4501 is the famous Norfolk & Western #611 Class J streamlined locomotive and behind her is Norfolk & Western 2-6-6-4 Class A #1218. Any old railfan or hogger would be in hog heaven to see a line-up like this today (pun intended). SR 4501 is now housed at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga. N&W 611 and 1218 are preserved at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, VA.
