Close-up of the end. The NS Triple Crown does not use the CouplerMate at end of train as do AMTRAK and the SP oops, UP with their Swift RoadRailer. (or we just didn't photograph one)
Kevin Wagner adds "Apparently, to head north out of Crestline, Ohio, the trains have to back around an interchange track, so I would say that they are used where backup moves are performed."
